President’s Message
Omair Syed Zubair
AberISoc President - 24/25
As-salamu alaykum (peace be upon you),
I am truly honored to address you as the new President of AberISoc. Taking on this role is both a privilege and a responsibility to me, I am excited to work to make this year one of growth, connection, and meaningful impact for our community.
AberISoc is much more than just a student society; it’s a family that brings together individuals from different backgrounds and cultures, all bound by our shared faith and values. This diversity is not only what makes us unique, but it is also our strength.
Our mission this year remains clear: to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for Muslims and those interested in learning more about Islam at Aberystwyth University. We aim to foster meaningful friendships, and deepen our understanding of Islam. We believe in creating spaces where every individual can feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow in their faith.
This year, we have a host of exciting events and activities lined up, including engaging weekly socials, lessons, and the occasional trips outside Aberystwyth. Above all, we remain committed to expanding our charitable initiatives, making a difference for those in need, and living out the values of compassion, empathy, and service that Islam teaches us.
AberISoc is a society that thrives on the involvement and contributions of all its members. Each of you brings something special to the table, whether it’s your ideas, energy, or unique perspective. I encourage you all to be join us, share your thoughts, and help us shape the direction of our society this year. Together, we can make AberISoc a place of lasting impact for every individual who joins us.
I look forward to seeing all the things we will accomplish this year.
