President’s Message

Omair Zubair

President

As-salamu alaykum (peace be upon you),

It is with great pleasure that I write to you as President of AberISOC. I am deeply honored to be entrusted with this responsibility, and I am eager to work alongside all of you to make this year a memorable and meaningful one for our vibrant community.

AberISOC is not just a student society; it’s a family, with brothers and sisters, each from different countries and cultures, yet united by our shared faith and values. This diversity is not just a hallmark of our society; it’s our strength.

Our purpose is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for Muslims and those interested in Islam at Aberystwyth University. We aim to promote a greater understanding of Islam, to facilitate spiritual development, and to create an environment where we can build lifelong friendships and strengthen our faith together.

This year, we have a variety of exciting events and activities planned. From regular weekly socials, to trips outside of Aberystwyth, informative seminars and discussions about Islam and cultural events that celebrate our diversity, we are committed to making your university experience richer and more fulfilling. We will also increase our charitable initiatives, giving back to those less fortunate and embodying the principles of compassion and empathy that Islam teaches us.

Remember, our society thrives not only on the roles of the president or the committee members but also on the active participation and contributions of each one of you. Your ideas, your enthusiasm, and your unique perspectives are the lifeblood of our organization. I encourage each of you to engage actively, participate wholeheartedly, and share your thoughts and suggestions, we always love to hear them!
